Dear Home Jamz fan,
Perhaps you've noticed over the past few weeks that we have been downsizing Home Jamz. It is with regret that I inform you over the next few weeks we will be phasing out Home Jamz altogether.
This is particularly disappointing to me in that Home Jamz was created specifically to highlight the exceptional talent this area has to offer. Friends of mine who are radio program directors in other markets strongly advised me not to program Home Jamz because it would only cause problems. I was strongly motivated to prove them wrong, but in the end, they were right. The staff of Jamz 101.9 went to great lengths to assure that the voting for Home Jamz was on the level and as fair as it could possibly be. I even hired an outside company to monitor the on-line voting. Despite these efforts in time and expense the perception and accusations that Home Jamz voting was not fair caused many local artists to loose faith in the program and drop out. Several of our better artists stopped participating and over the past few months the quality of music has not lived up to what it was intended to do to showcase and reward the best talent in the Valley by giving them an outlet to promote their music.
On behalf the entire staff and management of Jamz 101.9 we want to thank you for your past support of Home Jamz and with or without this very rare local outlet for talent we wish you the very best of success in your music careers.

New Artists are always appearing. If you want your music featured, send your info and music in MP3 format to homejamz@jamz1019.com and the top artists will be selected. CDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. If your music is selected to be featured on HOME JAMZ, you will be informed via email. If your song isn't seleceted for the week, SUBMIT IT AGAIN THE FOLLOWING WEEK. All music must be RADIO FREINDLY. Final approval for all Home JAMZ will come from the Music Director, Program Director, and General Manager. For official rules, and entry information, click here.
THIS CONTEST IS ONLY OPEN TO RESIDENTS OF THE YOUNGSTOWN, OH/WARREN, OH/SHARON PA Area. Out of area submissions will not be considered.
EVERY MONTH JAMZ 101.9 SENDS THE WEEKLY HOME JAMZ WINNING SONG TO DEF JAM IN NEW YORK FOR CONSIDERATION.
IN NOVEMBER, A HOMETOWN ARTIST OR GROUP WILL BE FLYING TO NEW YORK WITH THEIR HOME JAM TO MEET WITH DEF JAMZ EXECUTIVES FOR A FACE-TO-FACE PROFESSIONAL CRITIQUE OF YOUR MUSIC. YOU HAVE TO GIVE DEF JAM FIRST RIGHT OF REFUSAL ON A RECORDING CONTRACT IF THEY DECIDE TO OFFER YOU A CONTRACT.
Winning artist(maximum two (2) and producer get roundtrip airfare, ground transportation from airport to Def Jam headquarters and each receives $100 spending money for incidentals.
